I have just got the new Xbox 360 S and noticed that even with the xbox 360's wireless mac address added to the routers access control list that it does not connect to the network. The only way that I can get it to connect to the network is by using just my wpa2 security password and by disabling access control. After this it the connects to the network fine.
I have always been used to having two levels of security. I can and do use ethernet so that's not the problem but just wondered why it won't connect with access control turned on. The router is a Netgear DGN2000. Does anyone have the same sort of problems either with the new 360 or any of the other external wireless 360 adaptors?

To find the MAC address on your Xbox One follow these simple steps: 1. Navigate to the Settings page 2. Select Network 3. Select Advanced Settings 4. MAC address will be listed next to 'Wireless MAC' on the right hand side of the screen (this is also where the IP address and other information is located) 5. The Wireless adaptor shares its MAC address with the Ethernet socket on the console. Strange, but true. It'll either tell you in what the MAC is in Network Settings on the console or alternatively, connect it via Ethernet temporarily, your router should tell you.
A MAC address is a code that identifies a particular piece of hardware on a network. Your home computer has one, and so does the Xbox. MAC addresses are useful for setting up advanced configuration options on your home network.

From the Dashboard, go to the Settings Hub at the far right of the screen. Select the tile labeled System, and on the next screen select Network Settings. At the list of available networks you will need to select either wired network, if you are using an Ethernet connection, or the appropriate wireless network name, if you are using a wireless connection. This will take you to the Network Settings page.
On that page select Configure Network and from there select the Additional Settings tab. The Advanced Settings option will be near the bottom of that page. Select it with the green A button to open the Advanced Settings page.
